Director of Coaching

Jarreth Chan

Jarreth was born and raised in the Bay Area of Northern California, and played club soccer for the prestigious Mustang Soccer Club. Some of Jarreth’s favorite memories are playing club soccer with his friends, traveling to tournaments, and being part of a team working together towards one goal.

Jarreth has been coaching soccer for over 25 years at the club, high school, and collegiate level. He was a preeminent coach in the Bay Area, at Walnut Creek, Diablo Valley, Dublin United, and Pleasanton Rage. Jarreth coached multiple ECNL teams at Pleasanton Rage and qualified for the top division at the ECNL National Playoffs. His highly effective coaching has led his teams to win several state cups, tournaments, and league titles. Jarreth coached, developed, and trained several exceptional players who have gone on to play collegiate soccer at top schools such as the University of North Carolina, Stanford, Princeton, UCLA, Cal Berkeley, University of Washington, University of Oregon, University of Utah, University of Portland, Oregon State, Villanova, Columbia University, along with youth players who attended the US Youth Soccer ODP National Training Camp and the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Identification Camp.

Jarreth is currently the Head Coach for the Varsity Girls soccer team at Timberline High School. He has led Timberline to two District Championship games in his three years there, while also qualifying for the Idaho High School State Playoffs all three years. Jarreth was awarded the 5A SIC All Conference Coach of the Year for 2023. He previously coached in the Varsity Girls Soccer Programs at Dublin High School, Granada High School, Athenian High School, and the nationally-ranked Carondelet High School. At Carondelet, he helped lead the team to multiple league titles and a section title. After winning the section title, they finished the season as the #1 ranked high school girls’ soccer team in the nation.

One of Jarreth’s favorite things about coaching is sharing his love and passion for the game while inspiring players to be the best version of themselves. He really enjoys guiding players to reach their potential in a creative and positive environment. Jarreth is looking forward to helping each and every Boise Shock player develop into the best player that they can be.
