College Placement Program
The Boise Shock College Placement Program is designed to assist high school age players with the dedication and ability to play soccer at the collegiate level. Shock provides guidance, resources, and information to help our players and parents navigate the college recruiting process. Shock understands that each player has different goals and objectives both academically and athletically, and provides assistance that is specially tailored to meet the needs of every individual player
Boise Shock College Placement Program
Develops and implements a personalized 4-year college recruitment plan
Arranges individual college meetings with player/parent
Organizes and enhances player profiles/resumes
Refines and gives feedback with player highlight videos
Educates player on the different divisions of college soccer – NCAA I, NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA, Junior College
Provides guidance with finding the right fit both academically and athletically for each individually player
Assists player in communicating effectively with college coaches
The Boise Shock College Placement Program has 5 phases for preparing and assisting our high school players with the college recruiting process. We work diligently to provide guidance and resources with each player through the 5 phases.
Phase 1
Create a personalized plan with establishing a timeline and fill out a self-assessment form, and NCAA Eligibility Center
Phase 2
Create a player profile, resume, and highlight video to self-market and understand recruiting resources
Phase 3
Start effective communication with emails and phone calls for player introduction
Phase 4
Start unofficial campus visits, tours, ID camps, showcases to get exposure leading to official visits
Phase 5
Receive scholarship offers, select the right school, sign National Letter of Intent
